About me

Born and raised in the South, reading has always been a part of my life. I have vivid memories of reading in the sunroom, under the giant windows until the light drained out of the sky. Reading late into the night because I couldn’t wait to see what happened next to characters I had grown attached to. I could go on but I will spare any reader the agony of me reminiscing on my own. Despite this fervent love for fiction, I never seriously considered myself a writer. As a result, as many people before me, I stopped reading into my teenage years.
Around my 20th birthday I took the conscious effort to read again. I don’t know exactly what sparked my interest after such a long hiatus, but I graciously thank it. By this point I had begun writing a personal journal – which include terrible examples of poetry – as well as some small creative writing projects that I had started on a whim. It was then I decided that if I am going to pretend to be a writer I might as well study the best ones that ever lived and went back to college as well, which I had also taken a break from. I am working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in English, with a focus on writing, and minoring in French.
I don’t know if I can pick a favorite author right now, but Hemingway is someone I am reading right now and I greatly admire his skill with language. Other authors I enjoy are Woolf, Fitzgerald, James Clavell, Greg Bear, Karin Traviss, and likely many more than I can’t think of off the top of my head right now.
Thank you for visiting my page and, hopefully, taking a look at some of the work that I have uploaded here.
