Space Dust

To start anew, if the saying is true,
frightens, if not terrifies. The warmth through
me shines out to her, she might be living proof
or a gift, sent from where terror shies.

What once was undeniable, only fact,
becomes at once defiable, simply that.
Hydrogen, Helium, traveling fast,
mistakes, now rectifiable, become the past.

Once, you said to me what seemed to be
impossible, frankly, quite absurd.
But serious tone, and what I know,
left speechless me wondering what could be.

Before today, my heart was torn asunder,
no time to waste, but patience must be mustered.
Now I stand tall – it’s clear – but fluster
burns my cheeks. Lord, don’t take me from her.
